Why now

Cards get drained

Criminals copy the PIN off a card on a rack and spend the balance before the buyer does.

Distribution is patchy

Shoppers abroad, gift givers overseas and online buyers often cannot find your card at all.

Little visibility after the sale

Once a card leaves the shelf, most brands cannot see who holds it or how much is outstanding.

Use cases

Let someone in Toronto send your card to a relative in Manila, in the local currency.

Sell through partner apps

Gift cards are one of the most profitable products in retail, and one of the most exposed. They sit on racks with the security features of a greeting card, get bought in bulk at the busiest times of year, and disappear into a market where the brand rarely sees what happens next. The two things that matter most, getting cards to more buyers and protecting the money on them, are often handled by different teams with different tools.

The draining problem

Draining is a simple attack. A criminal visits a store, peels back the packaging on a rack of cards, copies the numbers and PINs, then reseals the card. The criminal then checks the balances until the card is bought and activated, and spends the funds before the customer ever gets to the till. The buyer arrives at a checkout later to find the card empty, and the brand takes the blame.

It is a slow, painful problem to fix with packaging alone. Brands need cards whose security does not depend on a piece of cardboard.

What Bidali Issuing adds

Bidali Issuing is our answer for brands that want that security. It is designed around cards that cannot be drained the way rack cards are, with visibility into redemption and outstanding balances after the sale. It gives brands controls over where and how a card can be used and a clearer picture of liability than a rack of unmonitored codes ever could.

Issuing is in early access. You can join the waitlist on the product page, or talk to us about becoming a platform partner if you run a marketplace or distribution network.

Reaching shoppers your shelves miss

Most gift cards are still sold in one country, in one store, to buyers who are physically there. Yet a large share of gift givers live somewhere else. A parent in Toronto wants to buy a card for a daughter in Manila. A customer in Dubai wants a friend in London to have coffee on them.

Bidali sells digital gift cards across 150+ countries, in the currencies people actually hold. Adding your brand to the catalog puts it in front of those buyers without opening a single new store, and the card is delivered as soon as the order is complete.

Where your cards get sold

The catalog is available inside the places shoppers already spend. Partners embed it through the Commerce SDK or the Gift Card API, including wallets, loyalty programs, community apps and storefronts. Partners share in our discount on every card sold, which is why they promote the brands that sell well, and your brand benefits from that promotion.

You keep control of how your brand appears, which denominations are offered and where cards can be redeemed.

A practical rollout

Most brands begin by listing a small set of denominations in a few high-demand countries, then widen the range as demand appears. In parallel, they scope a pilot of Bidali Issuing on a single product line or region, so their operations and finance teams can compare redemption patterns and fraud exposure against the cards already on the shelf. Marketing gets a new channel to test, since partners promote what sells. Because the catalog and the security work sit on the same platform, you do not have to choose between growth and protection.

Fewer surprises after the sale

Every card sold through Bidali is recorded, so you can see what has been issued and what has been redeemed. For finance teams, that visibility turns outstanding liability from an estimate into a number. For marketing, it shows which regions and partners bring buyers in. For customer service, it removes the guessing game when someone reports a problem with a card.

If your brand sells gift cards, the question is not whether to distribute more widely. It is whether you can do so without giving up control over what happens to the balance.

Frequently asked questions

Talk to our sales team. We work with brands directly or through their existing gift card program, and we add the brand to the catalog once the integration is set up.

Bidali Issuing is a network for gift cards that are built to resist draining and that give brands visibility after the sale. It is currently in early access, and you can join the waitlist on the Issuing page.

Digital distribution mostly reaches buyers your shelves do not: people overseas, online shoppers and gift givers who never enter a store. Think of it as added reach, not a replacement.
