Bidali Account Deletion Policy

Last updated on January 30, 2024

We value your right to privacy and, if you so choose, we want to empower you to be able to delete your account and all associated data easily. Despite this, in order to satisfy our legal requirements in accordance with our compliance obligations we may not be able to permanently delete all information associated with your account and may only be able to partially delete information and mark your account as "disabled" until our legal data retention obligations have been met. Please see our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and AML Policy for more information.

Due to the nature of how blockchain transactions work, there is some data that we are unable to delete due to the cryptographic nature of a transaction regardless of any changes in policies or legislation. For such information we have taken great care to ensure that any data stored in such a manner is non-identifiable. This non-identifiable information includes:

  • an anonymous hash of your public sending address;
  • an anonymous hash of the recipient's address;
  • the date and time of the transaction;
  • the value of the transaction;
  • a unique nonce; and
  • a cryptographic hash for the transaction;

Requesting Account Deletion

To request the deletion of your Bidali account, please send an email to support@bidali.com with the subject line "Request for Account Deletion". You will need to provide information to our customer support to verify that you are the owner of the account you are requesting data for, or have the legal authority to do so.

Upon successful verification and account deletion we will provide you with an email confirmation, to the email associated with your request, of your account deletion and the information that was deleted. Additionally, we will remove you from any and all marketing and platform communications and your Bidali account will be placed in an "disabled" state and set for automatic deletion five (5) years after your account deletion request has been approved (the "Automatic Account Deletion Date").

Please note that in order to comply with our compliance and regulatory obligations, we may not be able to provide or permanently delete certain data in accordance with our legal obligations to prevent illicit activity. Please see our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and AML Policy for more information.

Reinstating a Deleted Account

If you wish to reinstate your Bidali account prior to the automatic deletion date, please send an email to support@bidali.com with the subject line "Request for Account Reinstatement". If you do not submit a reinstatement request at least 30 days prior to the Automatic Account Deletion Date, it will not be satisfied and your account will be permanently deleted at the Automatic Account Deletion Date. Additionally, some functionality may not be recoverable due to the nature of the asymmetric public-private key cryptography that secures your Bidali account.
